Ne-Yo and the Compound Foundation embark on Giving Tour 2011

Grammy Award-winning record artist Ne-Yo understands giving back. Ne-Yo
kicked off his 2011 annual Giving Tour on December 7th with his charity,
The Compound Foundation. In partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of
America (BGC) and Toys for Tots, over 3,000 children in foster care and
members of the BGC received toys, clothing, bikes and electronics. “My
Giving Tour is close to my heart and is my responsibility to show our
future leaders, dreams can come true and I am living, breathing proof of
this,” said Ne-Yo in a statement. “No child should be deprived of the
celebration that comes with the holiday season.”

What started as a 5 city tour, which began in Vegas, also visited Chicago,
Boston, Orlando, and D.C., has now been extended internationally to also
help raise awareness and support in Angola and Haiti. If you would like to

Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry host private screening of “Red Tails”!

On Saturday, December 3rd, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry hosted a private screening of the upcoming movie “Red Tails” at the AMC Theater at Northpark Center in Dallas, TX. The movie is based on the Tuskegee airmen, a group of African American combat pilots during World War II, where Ne-Yo plays pilot Andrew “Smokey Salem. Ne-Yo, along with cast members: Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Elijah Kelley, Nate Parker, Tristan Wilds, and director Anthony Hemingway were in attendance.

Oprah was very impressed with Ne-Yo’s performance; so much so that she tweeted him after the screening: “@NeYoCompound you were really good and added humor to this film. I loved the camaraderie with the bro’s. Loved meeting you.”
