From a young age, it seemed that singer Loren Allred was made for a life in music. Born in Pittsburgh to a choral conductor and an operatic soprano, Loren began her musical studies with the piano at the age of four, and has been singing in children’s choirs since age seven. Following in her mother’s footsteps, her formative years were devoted mainly to classical training, but it was not to last; Loren soon began taking lead roles in high school musicals, eventually becoming the recipient of a full-ride scholarship to study musical theater at Weber State University in Utah, and her life-long love affair with contemporary and pop vocal music was born.
Quickly discontented with the scant opportunities available to her in a small town in Utah, Loren pursued broader avenues for success with a generous scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, in the hopes to finding a way to her dreams. It wasn’t long before she began to make a name for herself performing in vocal ensembles and showcases at the school, highlighting her efforts with her performance in the highly coveted Singer’s Night at the Berklee Performance Center. Word of her formidable talent spread rapidly and soon, Loren was in high demand, singing in numerous performances with different bands around the city, as well writing and recording original music and working with producers and engineers at the school. Loren maintained an active schedule singing professionally around the city and soon got hired to sing in a local wedding band.
In her spare time, she began posting videos on YouTube, covering some of her favorite popular songs with her good friend Kris Collins accompanying on the piano. The videos quickly caught viewers’ attention and began collecting thousands of views.
One viewer in particular was so impressed that he began reaching out to Loren and Kris with hopes of meeting in person; after many conversations and much deliberation Loren decided “why not” and flew to Atlanta. She met Nathan Lacey and Kiante Black (Silent Noise Entertainment) at the offices of Compound Entertainment and immediately began to plan and work on creating a dynamic sound. After a few kinks, experiments, and a few trips from Boston to Atlanta they finally got it right. Two days after returning from a trip to Atlanta, Loren received a phone call that changed it all. It was Kiante asking if she could be on the 1st plane out in the morning because Ne-Yo and his partner Tango had heard her most recent song and fell in love. The best is yet to come…
Though still very young, Loren’s attributes as a performer are far beyond her years: her highly personable nature and infectious energy make it easy for her to connect with any audience, in addition to her profoundly moving and emotive voice and the aura of professionalism and maturity she brings to every performance.
